1. Can I get ALL of my space heating from the power of the sun?
The short answer is no, but you can get a portion of it!
2. How much of my space heating can I expect to get from the sun?
A reasonable expectation is that your solar space heating unit will be able to provide up to 50% of your space heating.
Now think about that for a moment! How would you feel if the checks you wrote to your power company was ½ of what you spent to heat your home last year?
3. How much does the construction and installation of a solar space heating unit cost?
That depends on how large and well insulated your home or business is. We will do an assessment of your property and let you know what is the most cost effective for you..
4. Is financing available?
YES! Our friends at www.EnergyLoan.net often make available financing where the monthly payment is actually lower than the amount you save on your utility bills.
5. Will these solar collectors be an eye sore?
The systems we install are normally mounted flat on the roof and look like a big sky light. They are virtually unnoticeable from the front of the home.
6. Will solar improve the value of my home when I sell?
The Realtors® say YES! Of course, just exactly how much remains to be seen. Think about it this way. The year is 2015, and you are selling your home. The biggest difference between your home and another one that is for sale is Solar Heating Your home is listed for more money, but costs significantly less to heat. Which home sells faster?
7. I heard that if I heat my home with Solar, I have to dump that heat in the summer. Is that true?
Yes. We have designed several ways to deal with that excess heat energy. Do you have a pool? We call that a “SOLAR TRIFECTA!” And it pays even better than at Pimlico. When you have a Solar Trifecta, you get almost all of your domestic hot water,1/3 – 1/2 of your space heating, AND you get to enjoy your pool from early May through the end of October!
8. What if I don’t have a pool?
We have installed systems that turn themselves off when they are “FULL” of heat energy.
9. How long will my Solar system last?
An Advanced Solar Technologies system will last for 25 – 30+ years with a minimum of maintenance and attention.
10. Can I install a Solar System myself?
Yes, but you will not be able to get any of the Federal or State tax benefits. And you will not be able to get financing on the installation. Here at Advanced Solar Technologies we are NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Practitioners) Certified. We have invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours in professional education and certifications in this industry.
